Haciendo marketing de la tragedia. NASA

HP Pulls NASA Ad
NEW YORK -
Citing sensitivity about the fatal crash of the space shuttle Columbia over the weekend, Hewlett-Packard has pulled an ad on TV, print and outdoor featuring NASA.

The ad, which does not feature the Columbia, was part of a global campaign that rolled in November via Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco, paying tribute to HP's various partners, including Starbucks, Amazon.com and others.

HP pulled the NASA ad from TV rotation soon after news of the crash on Feb. 1 and has placed red, white and blue ribbons on outdoor ads, a company rep said.

"People everywhere are deeply saddened by the tragedy, as you would expect," she said.

The space shuttle disintegrated upon returning to Earth Saturday, killing all seven astronauts on board.
